The Kodak Z series is the higher-end EasyShares. If you're going for the $200 range, I'd look into the Z1012IS. It has image stabilization, and its minimal shutter lag is almost equivalent to a DSLR - it's got a .23 second click-to-capture. It also has a 12x Optical Zoom so the equivalent of a 33396 mm zoom on a lens, as well as 10.1 megapixtels. The Kodak Z1012 also offers features more advanced than a Basic Point & Shoot, where you can adjust the ISO. I love my little EasyShare - as their name suggests, they are nice and simple to use. It's $299 from Circuit City, but I wouldn't be suprised if the price drops between now and November. [Most new cameras come out between September and November for the Christmas season, so there are price drops on the current models.] Another to consider, but it's a bit more expensive, is the Nikon Coolpix P80 with 10.1 megapixtels and 18x Optical Zoom. It is $359 right now.
Oh, and go to your local library and get the July 2008 edition of Consumer Reports. It has reviews of all sorts of digital cameras, with facts such as price, megapixtels, optical zoom [digital zoom is EVIL!], and then tests on Image Quality, Flash Range, Shutter Speed, Battery Life, etc. Seriously awesome stuff in there. I LOVE reading the Consumer Reports when they have Digital Cameras.
